Why Six Senses Vana?

Traditional medicine fusion

Six Senses Vana offers approaches following Ayurvedic, Chinese and Tibetan traditional medicines: a unique combination to get to the root cause of a life's challenges.

Himalaya foothills

Vana is the first Six Senses destination fully dedicated to wellness. It is nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas, a highly revitalizing place, and incredibly beautiful too.

Life-changing

Wisdom, Wellness, Learning, and Seva (Giving) are the foundational pillars of Six Senses Vana. Their vibrant energy unlocks profound changes in life.

The approach at Six Senses Vana

Six Senses Vana commits truthfully to the traditional systems of medicine from India and its revered neighbors. Unlike anywhere else, the magic lies in the way Ayurveda, Sowa Rigpa and Traditional Chinese Medicine are fused together, in a way that best benefits you.

Sowa Rigpa is the Traditional Tibetan Medicine. It is delivered by Tibetan therapists and doctors from the North of India. Tibet’s traditional system of medicine finds its roots in Ayurveda, Chinese medicine, and Buddhism. It is this amalgamation that makes it truly unique. Sowa Rigpa’s emphasis on the mind and emotions, integrated seamlessly into the wellness journey, make Six Senses Vana one of the few to have embraced well-being in its entirety.

A stay at Six Senses Vana starts with a personalized consultation. Your doctor establishes a wellness plan that is specific to your dosha. The dosha represents your Ayurvedic body and personality type.

The nutrition at Six Senses Vana

All programs at Six Senses Vana include breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner. There are no restrictions on diet or calories. The cuisine is prepared mindfully and each dish is between 100-300 calories. The menus at Six Senses Vana are marked with all nutritional parameter such as calories, fibres, carbohydrates etc. allowing guests to make an informed choice. Gluten-free, lactose-free and plant-based options are available upon request.

In addition to the Ayurvedic principles, the cuisine at Six Senses Vana follows the Eat With Six Senses philosophy: seasonal, local, organic and wholesome ingredients. At its core, this approach considers that food should always be as nutritious as it is delicious.

In particular, Eat With Six Senses promotes natural ingredients, with a cleaner and simpler approach to preparation, focusing on quality, balance and fresh whole food made from scratch. Produce doesn’t come much fresher than herbs and veggies grown in the very own organic gardens and mushroom huts of Six Senses Vana.

A great share of the produces are sourced locally, with a strong emphasis on sustainability. Like each Six Senses resort, Vana is reinforcing its relationships with local farmers, producers and suppliers, who are committed to responsible sourcing, packaging and seasonality. The teams keep a close eye on what's in your food and where it comes from so you can reconnect with food safe in the knowledge it’s healthy for you and the world around you.

The chefs at Six Senses Vana indulge their love for hearty and healthy menus, while avoiding the bad stuff such as flavor enhancers and reducing the amount of lectins, lactose, gluten and sugar in your food. Glucose is out, vinegar is in!
