Yes, why?
Hi, this is me, Victoire, founder of Serenity Ways and Le Monde selon Victoire. Ever since my stay at Chenot Palace Weggis early 2024, I’ve become completely hooked on wellness retreats.
Not too long ago, my idea of the perfect getaway was a luxury beach hotel with an ocean view and an incredible spa. And don’t get me wrong - I still love those trips. But today, I crave wellness retreats even more. Here’s why.
The Overwhelm of Everyday Life
We live in a world where we’re expected to juggle everything. And let’s be honest, it’s exhausting (yes, the midlife crisis might have had something to do with it…).
Being the perfect woman
Social media sets impossible standards (remember, Instagram is not real life).
Raising children
My daughters challenge me daily, and meeting their endless needs can be overwhelming.
Work
I love what I do, but do you remember what life was like before our phones became an extension of our hands?
Cooking
As a control freak with a vegan, gluten-free, no-processed-foods lifestyle, I spend hours preparing meals from scratch.
Something always has to give. Friends, relationships: too often, they take a back seat.
And when do I get time for myself? Between 2 and 4 a.m.? Not an option - I need sleep.
A Retreat Reverses the Priorities
A traditional luxury hotel is designed to give you a great vacation. But a wellness retreat is built around you. Everything - the flexible schedules, the spa treatments, the expert teams - is there to help you feel good.
Plus, when you’ve spent a significant amount of money and left your family behind, you almost feel obligated to disconnect and focus on yourself. That’s when the magic happens.
The Transformation
At a wellness retreat, I can reconnect with myself, tune into my own rhythm, and gain the clarity I need to move forward in life and work.
I return feeling rested, recharged, and realigned. The teams help me reflect on my body, my mind, and the small, sustainable changes I can make to keep feeling great long after I leave.
Most importantly, I come home as a better version of myself - for me, my family, and my work.
