FAQs

These are the FAQs of the Chenot Body Insights and Optimisation programme program.

You can find the Serenity Ways FAQs here.

Do I need to book a programme to stay at Chenot Palace Weggis?

The access to Chenot Palace Weggis is granted exclusively to the guests following the Chenot programme. Any other overnight stays with a different purpose rather than following a programme and of a shorter length than seven nights are not permitted.

What happens on the day I arrive?

On the arrival day you will start your programme with the detox dinner. No other treatments or consultations are planned until the following day.

What is the Check-in and Check-out schedule?

Check-in is at 15:00. Check-out is at 12:00.Early check-in or later check-out is possible only in case of the availability of the assigned rooms and may be subject to additional charges.

What is the Chenot Diet?

It is a low-calorie plant-based diet, high in nutrients, with a specific combination of good fats, low glycemic index carbohydrates, fibres and limited plant proteins. It is a “fasting with food” approach which provides nourishment to the body and reduces the risks associated with total fasting.

The Chenot Diet includes no snacks. It helps to reduce insulin resistance and therefore allow better control of blood sugar levels. It is also stimulating metabolic flexibility (fed/fasted).

The Chenot Diet contains no animal protein. Protein restriction and in particular restriction of specific amino acids found mainly in animal food sources, reduce the “command growth” within the body and facilitate the breakdown and removal of toxins.

There are only 850 calories served daily in the Chenot Diet. The body must enter a fasted state that enhances “autophagy” which is the body's way of cleaning out damaged cells, regenerating newer, healthier cells and promoting rejuvenation. It also helps the body to flip the metabolic switch to burn fat and regulate blood sugar levels. Compared to zero-calorie fasting, the Chenot Diet nourishes vital processes and is making dining an experience without compromising the pleasure of taste.

There are no caffeine drinks in the Chenot Diet. Caffeine acts as a stimulant, a vasoconstrictor, and a promoter of a stress response, hindering optimal relaxation. It has been found to limit the absorption of nutrients from food, while Chenot would like to maximize the nutritional content. As you are invited to practice mindful eating, caffeine may numb the perception of taste through receptor binding capacity, a vital sensor for engaging with food.

Can a person staying with me not follow a programme?

Admittance to Chenot Palace Weggis is exclusively reserved for guests participating in the Chenot programmes with a valid reservation. Overnight stays unrelated to the programme and lasting fewer than 7 nights are not allowed. In order to safeguard the privacy of guests, the reception of temporary external visitors is restricted to designated public areas, such as the lobby or tea lounge.
